THE CHERRY ORCHARD PRODUCTION DESIGN CONCEPT

A reimagined adaptation of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, where the Ranevskaya family unknowingly lives inside a sealed museum period room.


CONCEPTUAL & VISUAL WORLDBUILDING

Reframed a classic play with a surreal twist, blending historical realism with speculative narrative to design a fully immersive environment.

Developed moodboards, conceptual collages, and a visual language that supported the story’s themes of illusion, time, and decay.

PAINT ELEVATIONS:
Illustrated wall treatments, surface detailing to scale, and sourced paint samples ensuring visual consistency and clear communication with scenic artists and builders.

FlOOR PLANS:
Designed detailed spatial layouts that solved practical challenges of set movement, sightlines, and composition, supporting both storytelling and filming logistics.
PLANNING & DOCUMENTATION
Compiled a comprehensive set deck booklet outlining materials, color palette, and furnishing plans, showcasing organizational and communication skills.
